DUNOON, ARGYLL MOUNTAINS AND THE ISLE OF BUTE

Wednesday 26th July to Monday 31st July 2023 (6 Days)

A coach tour of Scotland that includes some of the most splendid scenery – the lochs, mountains and glens, ever changing, ever beautiful.  It is a holiday for the first-timer that makes you want to know more of Scotland; a holiday for the ‘Scotticised’ revisiting loved haunts.  This is a tour that combines the grace and majesty of the mountains and glens with the peace and reflection of the lochs and the drama and spirit of the Atlantic Ocean.  Our hotel is the Selborne Hotel, Dunoon and standing in its own grounds enjoys good views towards the Firth of Clyde.  It has a lift and offers evening entertainment.

Wednesday: – Travel northwards along the Great North Road stopping for coffee at Peterborough Services, we have a lunch break in Wetherby, tea break in Rheged and an overnight stop at Gretna Green.

Thursday: – We drive around Glasgow to stop for lunch by the shores of Loch Lomond.  In the afternoon we drive over the” Rest and be thankful” Pass and through the Argyll Forest to our hotel.

Friday: – Whole day drive around the spectacular scenery of the Cowal Peninsular and the Isle of Bute, visiting Rothesay and Mount Stuart House and Gardens.

Saturday: – A Day of leisure at our hotel to enjoy the splendid landscape of mountains and sea to which Dunoon owes its popularity.

Sunday: – A spectacular excursion around the ‘Land of Lorne’ – by way of Inverary and through the Pass of Brander to Oban.

Monday: – Homeward bound across the Clyde Ferry and down the motorways stopping for a break at the Moffat Woollen Mill and making other suitable stops for refreshment en route.  The tour is scheduled to arrive back in Enfield Town by approximately 8.00pm.
