Monday 4th September to Friday 8th September 2023 (5 Days)
Our holiday is based at the luxurious 4 Star Mercure Hotel at Haydock, Lancashire. As well as all the usual facilities of a 4 Star Hotel, the amenities include a swimming pool and Health Club.
Monday: – Travel northwards by way of Bakewell and the interesting town of Knutsford, arriving at our hotel in the late afternoon.
Tuesday: – Visit Southport, the seaside resort that has one of the oldest pleasure piers in the land as well as golden sands, fine gardens, fountains and fashionable shopping boulevards. We return to our hotel past Anthony Gormley’s “Crosby Statues”, the unusual group of figures standing in the sea.
Wednesday: – Whole day visit to Liverpool where we have arranged a sightseeing tour covering all aspects of the city including a ride on the Mersey Ferries, Beatles Story, Cavern Club, Strawberry Fields, Childhood Houses, Cathedrals, Albert Dock and Maritime Museum.
Thursday: – Following a leisurely breakfast enjoy a full day tour around the Wirral Peninsular
including Port Sunlight Heritage Village, Lever Art Gallery and New Brighton.
Friday: – Departing after breakfast we travel to the Runway Visitor Park at Manchester Airport where we enjoy coffee in a restaurant with a view like no other before having a guided tour of Concerde. We continue our journey home along the motorways, arriving back in Enfield at approximately 7.00pm.
