Monday 10th April to Friday 14th April 2023 (5 Days)
Our holiday is based at the very comfortable “Metropole Hotel” (3 star) in Llandrindod Wells. It offers beautifully furnished en suite rooms with all the usual facilities and it also has an indoor leisure spa and gym facilities complemented by an award-winning restaurant.
Monday: – Drive to Llandrindid Wells by way of the Cotswold Hills, stopping at Great Malvern and one of the ‘Black & White’ villages of Herefordshire for tea.
Tuesday: – The morning is free in Llandrindod Wells. In the afternoon we enjoy a fantastic drive through the Cambrian Mountains and around the Elan Valley Reservoir complex. It is a route that makes us feel that we are on top of the World. We stop for lunch in Rhayader.
Wednesday: – Whole day excursion to Devil’s Bridge, noteworthy for its three bridges and spectacular waterfalls. Here we join a narrow-gauge steam train for the 15-mile journey down the Vale of Rheidol to the seaside resort of Aberystwyth where there is time for lunch and sight-seeing before returning to our hotel.
Thursday: – Another grand scenic drive as we visit the cathedral city of Brecon and then visit the Pendern Whisky Distillery during the afternoon to see how the Welsh distill their product.
Friday: – Travel home by way of Hay-On-Wye, Stow-on-the-Wold and Beaconsfield Services.
The tour is scheduled to arrive back in Enfield by approximately 7.30pm.
