Pembrokeshire, St David’s Cathedral & Gower Peninsular

Tenby, Pembrokeshire

DATE:  MONDAY 13TH APRIL TO FRIDAY 17TH APRIL 2020 (5 DAYS)

The southern counties of Wales are largely unknown to many tourists yet they contain magnificent scenery of sea cliffs, beaches, headlands and caves. Our hotel is the family owned ‘Merlewood’ situated in Saundersfoot which proved very popular when we last stayed. There is no lift but bedrooms in this modern building are situated on either the ground or first floor.

Monday – Our outward journey takes us by way of Oxford Services (coffee), across the Cotswolds to Ross-on-Wye (lunch) and then to the Brecon Beacons (tea), arriving at our hotel during the late afternoon.

Tuesday – Following a leisurely breakfast, drive to the walled town of Tenby with plenty of time to explore this ancient resort whose narrow streets and alleyways lead down to a picturesque harbour and sandy beaches. In the afternoon we drive along the cost to see St Goven’s and Bosherton (tea).

Wednesday – Today we drive to Carmarthen, an historic town whose narrow streets are lined with antique shops and whose large market includes many craft stalls. After lunch we continue around the Gower Peninsular stopping at Rhossili Visitor Centre for tea.

Thursday – Full day tour taking us along the Pembrokeshire coast to St David’s Cathedral (lunch), returning across the Presili Hills to stop for tea by the Gwili Valley Railway where we have arranged a return journey on the steam train.

Friday – On our return journey we break for lunch in Chepstow and stop at the Reading Services (tea).

The tour is scheduled to arrive back in Enfield town by approximately 7.30pm.
