The Royal Mint
Saturday 11th October to Sunday 12th October 2025 (2 Days)
The Royal Mint and Wye Valley
On Saturday we visit the Royal Mint at Llanstisant which showcases 1100 years of coin and medal production ranging from the Olympic Games to our present-day coinage and on our visit we see the entire production process. The Royal Mint Experience is a guided tour of the coin factory whilst the Museum displays some incredible rarities such as the “1933 Penny” and King Edward VIII “Gold Sovereign”. In the late afternoon we then drive to our hotel for dinner, bed and breakfast situated in Cardiff. On Sunday morning we return home along the Wye Valley, stopping at Tintern Abbey (coffee break), Monmouth (lunch break) and Burford in the Cotswolds for a tea break.
Home by approximately 7.30pm.
