Yorkshire Coast, Moors and City of York

Yorkshire Coast, Moors & City of York

DATE: FRIDAY 29TH MAY TO MONDAY 1ST JUNE 2020   (4 DAYS)

We are pleased to present this new holiday based at the Monarch Hotel Bridlington. Our hotel overlooks the sea front and offers all the usual facilities of a Leisureplex Hotel, including a lift to most floors. Bridlington is well known for its flat walks along the promenade and a sandy beach offering fine views of Flamborough Head whilst the nearby harbour is busy with fishing boats.

Friday – Travel northwards along the Great North Road, stopping at the Brampton Garden Centre for coffee and the City of Lincoln for lunch. We then cross the Humber Bridge to arrive at our hotel during the late afternoon.

Saturday – Enjoy a leisurely drive around Flamborough Head to the Bempton Bird Sanctuary (coffee). We spend the afternoon at the ‘Scarborough Fair Museum of Vintage Vehicles’ where we have arranged an afternoon tea followed by a recital on the mighty Wurlitzer Organ.

Sunday – Today we drive across the North Yorkshire Moors to visit Whitby with time for lunch and afternoon sightseeing. (There will also be the opportunity for a ride on the North Yorkshire Railway – train fare extra). We return to our hotel along the coastal route.

Monday Return home by way of City of York where we have about 4 hours to explore its many attractions including:- City Walls, Minster, Jorvik Centre, Castle Museum and the National Railway Museum. During the afternoon we head southwards along the Great North Road. The tour is scheduled to arrive back in Enfield Town by approximately 8pm.
