KIDDERMINSTER AND THE SEVERN VALLEY RAILWAY
22nd July 2023
Today we visit Kidderminster for a ride on the Severn Valley Railway to Bridgnorth, a journey length of 16 miles making it the longest steam hauled preserved train ride in the country. There is time to visit the souvenir shop and cafe at Kidderminster Station before boarding our train. The town of Bridgnorth is interesting because it stands on the edge of a cliff. The castle keep lurches at an angle of 17o and the Low Town is separated from the High Town by the only inland cliff railway in the country. High Town is some to the market and shops whilst Low Town stands on the banks of the River Severn. All too soon it is time to join our coach for the return journey to Enfield.
Home by approximately 8.30pm.
