CHILTERN HILLS AND LEIGHTON BUZZARD RAILWAY – Wednesday 7th August 2024
7th August 2024
A new tour designed for those of us that do not want to travel too far as we drive across the Chiltern Hills, which offer fantastic views across Dunstable Downs. Lunch is taken in Leighton Buzzard, a fine market town situated by the Grand Union Canal. In the afternoon we enjoy a ride on the narrow-gauge steam railway, comprising a return journey of about seven miles. Very few narrow-gauge railways were built in England (unlike Wales) and this railway is an authentic survivor of this rare and bygone mode of transport. Indeed, there is nothing quite like this railway anywhere else, so come and experience it for yourself. Time for tea at Pages Park Station Buffet before arriving home by approximately 6.00pm.
Pick Up Group: D
Fare: £37.00 (includes Rail Fare)
