COLCHESTER AND HIDDEN ESSEX
18th May 2021
A delightful day out that takes us through the rural heart of Essex to stop in Finchingfield (coffee) and then to Colchester (lunch) with its mixture of old and new and over 2000 years of fascinating history. Here, the new ‘Firstsite’ gallery of modern art is to be found containing the Berryfield Mosaic that once graced the dining room floor of a roman house that stood on this site. In the afternoon we drive across the Tendring Peninsular to stop for tea in the small seaside resort of Brightlingsea by the estuary of the River Colne.
Home by approximately 7.30pm.
