Stratford-upon-Avon or Ancient Warwick
Both these historic towns are set on the River Avon in country that Shakespeare knew. Stratford is where he was born, lived and is buried in the churchyard. Warwick is dominated by its huge Castle that contains historical exhibitions illustrating life down the centuries. The town is also noted for its many antique shops and the beautiful Mill Stream Gardens.
