The opportunity to visit the Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre that was set up in 1987 initially to provide a home for chimpanzees used as props by Spanish beach photographers. Monkey World assists governments around the world to stop the smuggling of primates from the wild. At the Centre refugees of this illegal trade as well as those that have suffered abuse or neglect are rehabilitated into natural living groups. There are refreshment facilities at the Centre and the coach will travel via Poole on the inward and outward journeys.
