Weald & Downland Museum – Saturday 19th April 2025
19th April 2025
The Weald and Downland Museum is a collection of about 50 buildings which have been re -sited from their original South Coast sites to represent life from 1066 down to the 20th century. The interiors of some of the buildings are furnished to recreate historic domestic interiors including working farm buildings. It includes period gardens, traditional farm animals and a mill pond. The Museum also has an excellent collection relating to rural life including agriculture, domestic life, trades and industries. The largest building on the site is the “Court Barn” relocated from Lee-On-Solent and used by BBC TV as the set for “The Repair Shop”. While the production team are busy filming the TV Show the area around the barn is closed to the public, however we might be able to get a peek inside “The Barn” when the team are not filming. There is a restaurant on site available for lunch and then we stop for tea in Arundel. Home by 7.30pm
