SEVERN VALLEY RAILWAY AND BRIDGENORTH – Saturday 13th July 2024
13th July 2024
Today we visit Kidderminster for a ride on the Severn Valley Steam Railway to Bridgenorth, a journey of 16miles, making it the longest preserved steam train ride in the country. The town of Bridgenorth is interesting because it stands on the edge of a cliff. The Castle Keep lurches at an angle of 17o and the Low Town is separated from the High Town by the only inland cliff railway in Britain. High Town is home to the market and shops whilst Low Town stands on the banks of the Severn. Time to enjoy the souvenir shop and cafe at Kidderminster Station before joining our coach for the journey home, arriving by approximately 8.30pm.
