“BEAMISH AND THE DELIGHTFUL DURHAM DALES”
Friday 4th October to Sunday 6th October 2024 (3 Days)
This delightful tour covers a variety of splendid scenery and contrasting countryside as we journey through forgotten Yorkshire villages and spend a day at the superb, award winning Beamish Open Air Museum, to discover what life was like in the North of England during the 19th century. Our hotel is the luxurious 4-star Royal County Hotel in Durham.
Friday: Travel northwards along the Great North Road stopping at Peterborough Services (coffee break), Newark (lunch break) and Clumber Park (tea break) arriving at our hotel during the late afternoon.
Saturday: Today we visit the Beamish Open Air Museum and experience life as it was in the 19th century in the North of England. In the afternoon we take another journey back in time as we travel on the “World’s Oldest Steam Railway” – The Tanfield Railway.
Sunday: Return home through the countryside of the peaceful villages of the Durham Dales. Stopping at Stanhope Visitor Centre (coffee break), Richmond (lunch break) and after joining the Great North Road, Peterborough Services (tea break).
The tour is scheduled to arrive back in Enfield Town by approximately 7.30pm
