TULIPS AND TRAINS

Experience Springtime in the Netherlands on this leisurely tour based at the outstanding Carlton President Hotel situated just outside Utrecht. This modern 4-star hotel offers a bar, restaurant, sauna, wellness centre and games room.
Friday: Drive to Dover for the short sea-crossing to Calais, continuing across France, Belgium and into Holland to arrive at our hotel in time for the evening meal.
Saturday: This morning we drive to Arnham, known to many as being the location of ‘Operation Market Garden’ and setting for the film ‘A bridge too far’. We continue to the nearby “Netherlands Open-Air Museum where we can step into 80 historic houses, farmhouses and mills, discovering how ordinary Dutch people have lived over the last 100 years and also ride the vintage trams.
Sunday: Today we spend the day at the world-famous “Keukenhof Gardens” – showpiece of the Dutch Tulip industry where we can enjoy the magnificent displays if bulbs in the wooded parklands.
Monday: Today we have a steam train journey from Hoorn to Medemblik.
Tuesday: Return home across Belgium and France to Calais and the crossing to Dover, arriving home by approximately 8.00pm.
